U.S. 26 (Mt. Hood Highway) Slide Repair: Mile post 23.6 in Sandy
Project Information
A contractor for the Oregon Department of Transportation has finished work on an emergency slide repair project on U.S. 26 (Mt. Hood Highway) in Sandy. 

The work area was located on the eastbound side of the highway, between Ruben Lane and University Avenue.  The work consisted of building a new stone embankment to repair the road base in the slide area, and restoring damaged roadway features including a travel lane, curb, guardrail and shoulder.  Additionally, crews restored a damaged waterline serving businesses on the south side of the highway. 

Work began in March 2009 and was completed June 2009.
