U.S. 30 Bridges: Tide Creek to Big Creek
Project Information
The Oregon Department of Transportation has started construction on four bridges along U.S. 30 (Lower Columbia River Highway). These bridges are:

• Tide Creek (mile post 36.5) between St. Helens and Rainier (completed August 2009)
• Lost Creek (mile post 55.3) between Rainier and Clatskanie (completed September 2009)
• Gnat Creek (mile post 77.2) east of Astoria; and
• Big Creek (mile post 82.5) east of Astoria.

ODOT will strengthen the bridges, built between 1929 and 1959, to improve safety, mobility and access. Construction will begin in summer 2009 and is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2010. Impacts may include single-lane closures for up to two months at the Gnat Creek and Big Creek bridges, as well as other short-term lane closures. No closures will occur during holidays or major events in the area.

Funding for this $3.7 million project is provided by the Oregon Transportation Investment Act.
