FHWA Issues Record of Decision (ROD) on Sunrise Project FEIS
On Feb. 22, 2011, the Federal Highway Administration signed a Record of Decision (ROD) on the Sunrise Project. The Sunrise Project is an approximately five-mile, east-west oriented, limited-access highway from I-205 to the Rock Creek Junction in Clackamas County. The basis for FHWA's decision is provided in the Sunrise Project Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement and Final Environmental Impact Statement. A claim seeking judicial review of FHWA actions on the highway project must be filed on or before Aug. 27, 2011.

Final Environmental Impact Statement
The Federal Highway Administration, the Oregon Department of Transportation, and Clackamas County have completed the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the Sunrise Project.
The FEIS summarizes the estimated impacts that the Preferred Alternative may have on land uses, natural resources, transportation, and other elements that may be of interest to you. The Federal Highway Administration will make final approval of the FEIS in a formal Record of Decision.
The FEIS is available for download at the links provided below. Please note that some files are large and download may take several minutes. There are also several public locations (listed at the bottom of this page) where you may view a paper version of the document.
One disk of the FEIS (the files shown here) can be mailed to you for free. A paper copy of the FEIS main document can be mailed directly to you for a charge of $112 to cover printing; a paper copy of the appendix is an additional charge. Please contact Thomas Picco, ODOT Project Manager, at (503) 731-8230 or Thomas.J.PICCO@odot.state.or.us to request either. Please specify whether you would like the free disk or will pay for printing of a paper copy.
