There are other improvements happening in addition to the Sunrise JTA Mainline (new road from the Milwaukie Expressway to SE 122nd Avenue at OR 212/224) to improve safety, congestion and access in the Sunrise Corridor. ODOT recently completed the OR 212/224 Westbound Lane project, and Clackamas County is leading the Lawnfield Connection Project and Industrial Way Extension Project.

OR 212/224 at 82nd Drive and I-205
In January 2012, contractor Moore Excavation, Inc. completed a project that added a third westbound lane on OR 212/224 from the Union Pacific railroad overcrossing to I-205. This project has provided immediate safety improvements and congestion relief while design of the Sunrise JTA Project is under way.

Lawnfield Connection Project

Clackamas County is leading a three-phase project to connect OR 212/224 to SE Lawnfield Road by way of 102nd Avenue, Industrial Way, Mather Road and 98th Court. The project is designed to provide wider, smoother and safer travel for freight and passenger vehicles.
Phase 1: SE 102nd Avenue, Clackamas Road, Industrial Avenue, Mather Road
Phase 2: SE 98th Court from Lawnfield Road to Mather Road
Phase 3: SE Lawnfield Road from 98th Court to 97th Avenue

Industrial Way Extension

To accommodate the future Sunrise JTA Mainline, Clackamas County will extend SE Industrial Way from Mather Road to Lawnfield Road along the east side of the Union Pacific railroad right of way. Construction was completed in late 2014.
