U.S. 30: Swedetown Road to OR 47 (formerly U.S. 30: Van St.)

| Project Information |
|
The Oregon Department of Transportation completed construction fall 2011 on a $4 million modernization and paving project in the City of Clatskanie between Swedetown Road (milepost 60.8) and Highway 47 (milepost 61.8). The project contractor was Oregon Mainline Paving. Project elements included:
-
Widen U.S. 30 at Van Street to accommodate a left-turn lane for eastbound/southbound traffic. This will include an extension of the left turn lane westbound toward the Clatskanie River Bridge

Pave and stripe a 1-mile section of U.S. 30 in the project area

Build new sidewalks (where they don't already exist) and pedestrian ramps along U.S. 30 west of the Clatskanie River

Reconstruct the existing bicycle/pedestrian path along U.S. 30 east of the Clatskanie River to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines

Upgrade signage, drainage and guardrail in the project area

Improve safety by making access modifications to the highway
