| Highway 6: Wilson River (Mills) to Devils Lake Fork |
| Overview |
This OTIA project will repair one aging bridge along Oregon 6, Wilson River Highway. The Devils Lake Fork Bridge on Highway 6 over the Wilson River, at mile post 32, is an important link for both freight movement and tourism to Tillamook and other communities on the Oregon Coast.
Recently, the Wilson River (Mills) Bridge on Highway 6 was reviewed to see if repairs are needed or if it met anticipated traffic for the next 20 years. Analysis showed that the Wilson River (Mills) Bridge at mile post 5.78 can handle forecasted traffic for the next 20 years and does not need to be repaired.
Drivers along Oregon 6 should expect flagging and alternating one-way traffic from late September 2010 through January 2011.
Project milestones:
- Construction begins: August 2010
- Construction ends: May 2011
Total project cost is estimated at $28.6 million, and funding will come from OTIA bonds.
