I-5: Santiam Highway Over-Crossing
Overview

View of I-5 northbound and Santiam Highway Overpass

This project will increase vertical clearance under the Santiam Highway overpass by lowering the elevation of I-5 northbound, which will provide better passage for tall commercial vehicles and Interstate trucking. The elevation of the northbound off-ramp will also be lowered for vehicles exiting onto U.S. 20 (Santiam Highway).

Public Involvement
Construction is expected to begin July 2009 and last into October 2009. A temporary diversion lane(s) for I-5 will be constructed in the existing median to allow through traffic during construction. Depending on temporary diversion width, over-height and width restrictions may apply.

The Contractor is Knife River Inc. out of Tangent, Oregon.
