U.S. 20: Newton Creek (Philomath) to 99W (Corvallis)
Overview
This is a pavement preservation project that will grind out the existing roadway and then inlay new asphalt, repaving U.S. 20 from the east end of Philomath to the Highway 99W over-crossing in Corvallis (mile post 51.31 – 55.75).

The project will also make guardrail and ADA sidewalk ramp improvements within the project area.

Preservation projects maintain existing roads by rehabilitating damaged pavement and upgrading sub-standard roadway features.

The contractor is Knife River Inc. out of Tangent, Oregon.

Public Involvement
Construction begins June 15, 2009, and paving will cause delays on U.S. 20. Construction crews will work at night to reduce impacts to area traffic.

Traffic will be one lane with flaggers during paving operations and construction is estimated to be complete in September.

There is a no-work zone between SW 53rd Street and SW Technology Loop, where newer paving already exists.

Please check our weekly construction updates for more information.
