EUGENE-SPRINGFIELD AREA

I-5: MCKENZIE RIVER TO GOSHEN GRADE
This project will replace two sets of bridges at the I-5/Highway 58 interchange (in Goshen) and replace two bridges that carry I-5 traffic over the McKenzie River north of Eugene-Springfield.  (Between milepost 188 to milepost 201)
  • McKenzie View Drive: Watch for traffic occasionally controlled by flaggers. Watch for roadside crews and construction equipment.
  • I-5 at McKenzie River: Watch for intermittent nighttime single-lane closures as crews complete work in the median.  Watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting travel lanes.
  • I-5 at the Highway 58 Goshen interchange: The I-5 southbound off-ramp to eastbound Highway 58 has shifted one-third mile north of its previous location, to just past the 30th Avenue overpass. Watch for signs and message boards directing traffic to this new alignment.  Watch for nighttime single-lane closures in each direction to accommodate paving.
  • The westbound Highway 58 to southbound I-5 on-ramp is closed. Signs direct traffic to use Cloverdale Road or the I-5 ramp to Franklin Boulevard.
  • Franklin Boulevard under I-5: Watch for roadside workers and construction equipment. Watch for traffic occasionally controlled by flaggers. Expect brief delays for bridge work.
OR569: BELTLINE HIGHWAY AT COBURG RD. INTERCHANGE
This project realigns the east-bound off-ramp onto Coburg Road, adding turn lanes and storage for stopped vehicles.  An additional turn lane will also be added to the west-bound Beltline off-ramp to Coburg Rd.   Both traffic signals at the ramp terminals will be replaced to facilitate the additional lanes.  Some small changes will be made to Coburg Rd. curbs, sidewalks, and turn lanes.  A sound wall will be constructed along the new East bound off ramp, along with new illumination replacing the existing.  Completion date for this contract is December 31, 2009. Utilities are working to relocate their facilities in preparation for the roadwork.  Construction will begin later this summer; the exact dates are not known at this time.
