Coastal highways affected by flooding
01/08/2009
U.S. 101 (Pacific Coast Highway) is restricted to high profile vehicles at mile points 23-25, just south of Seaside due to high water. Drivers should use caution because of high water on part of the detour route (Oregon 103, Fishhawk Falls Highway), where there is water across the roadway from Nehalem River flooding. Motorists may consider using U.S. 30 (Lower Columbia River Highway) as an alternate route.

U.S. 101 is closed due to high water at mile point 64 (northern Tillamook), but a detour is in place. Oregon 6 (Wilson River Highway) is open.

ODOT crews may work on the shoulder to assess damage, remove debris or control traffic throughout the area. Please drive with caution.

As waters recede, slides and debris may still affect travel. Please visit www.tripcheck.com for updates and the latest road conditions.

Visit ODOT winter driving tips and preparation for more information on how minimize risk while driving in adverse conditions.
