Oregon 6 (Wilson Rvr. Hwy.) slide repair project beginning soon
03/03/2009
Motorists should expect delays on OR 6 through October
Oregon Department of Transportation is beginning work this month on a $4.9 million project to repair a section of OR Highway 6 (Wilson River Highway) impacted by three landslides.  Work will take place 15 miles west of Banks on OR 6 from mile post 33.25 to 34.25 near the summit.  Project completion is slated for October 2009.

Retaining walls will be built at each of the three landslide sites on the north side of the highway.  There will also be grinding, paving and durable striping as a part of the project.

OR 6 will remain open at all times with single lane closures throughout the duration of the project.  Flaggers, and occasionally pilot cars, will be controlling one-way traffic while lane closures are in place.  Motorists should expect delays of up to 20 minutes when driving through the project, and should expect occasional nighttime work.  Lane closures will not occur after 3 p.m. on Fridays to midnight on Sundays.  The Oregon Department of Transportation awarded the contract to Kerr Contractors, Inc of Woodburn, OR.
