ODOT to pave sections of Independence Highway
06/01/2009
INDEPENDENCE – The Oregon Department of Transportation will pave Oregon 51 (Independence Highway) in two sections. All work will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. daily, and flaggers will control single-lane traffic. Expect delays or use alternate routes, such as Oregon 99W (Pacific Highway West).

On June 3, a contractor will do prep work on Oregon 51 from the Ash Swale Bridge (mile post 6.2) to Polk Street (mile post 5.7). Crews will grind the road surface and prepare it for a two-inch pavement overlay that will be completed on June 8 and June 9.

On June 10 and 11, workers will pave Oregon 51 from Stryker Road (mile post 5) to Greenwood Road (mile post 3).

Please drive with caution through the work zone.
