Paving will slow travel on Hwy. 36

SPRINGFIELD – The Oregon Department of Transportation has contracted with Wildish Construction Co. of Eugene to pave a segment of Highway 36 (Mapleton – Junction City Highway) from Territorial Road at Mile Point 46 to Highway 99, south of Junction City.

Paving is expected to begin August 5, and last for approximately three weeks.  Crews will work 8 AM-6 PM, Monday through Thursday and 8 AM-3 PM on Friday.  Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zones and motorists should expect lane closures and delays.  Motorists should allow extra travel time and please drive safely through the construction area.

The $1,019,000 project is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and is expected to sustain more than 30 family wage jobs.
