ODOT Region 2 | August 7, 2009 | 08-201-R2 | For Immediate Release Media: Adam Torgerson, Public Information Officer, (503) 986-2880 SALEM—The Salem River Crossing Project oversight team will meet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, in Conference Room A at the Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments (105 High Street SE, Salem). Project consultant CH2M Hill will provide the oversight team with a progress report. The team comprises elected or appointed officials representing jurisdictions with regulatory responsibility for, or strong interest in, the project. Oversight team meetings are open to the public and include time for public comment. The Salem River Crossing Project is being conducted by the City of Salem and ODOT to develop solutions for crossing the Willamette River in the Salem-Keizer metropolitan area that meet transportation needs, are compatible with the built and natural environments and have broad community and regional support. The project will build on results of previous studies and will include development of an environmental impact statement (EIS) and a funding strategy to move any identified solutions toward implementation.
