Paving project may slow travel on local streets in McMinnville
Drivers urged to plan for delays as school starts
MCMINNVILLE – Baker Rock Resources is performing paving and related work on city streets in McMinnville, and delays may affect motorists as school resumes.
Contractors will grind old asphalt, pave and improve sidewalks along several local streets, including:
o Linfield Avenue between Gilorr and Davis Streets
o 19th Street between Michelbook Lane and Lafayette Avenue
o Fellows Street between Hill Road and Cedarwood Avenue.
Starting Tuesday, Sept. 7, grinding work will begin on Linfield Avenue, moving to 19th and Fellows Streets as the work progresses. Flaggers will control single-lane traffic between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. During following weeks, each street will be closed in sections while contractors pave. Please allow for extra drive time when traveling in the area or use alternate routes.
This project consists of constructing a new pavement overlay and upgrading concrete ramps on city streets in McMinnville. This project is funded by the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, and the construction work is being managed by ODOT on behalf of the city. The project is scheduled to be completed in November 2010.
