ODOT to deactivate 126W/Territorial signal on Monday
09/06/2007
VENETA – The Oregon Department of Transportation will turn off the traffic signal at the intersection of Highway 126W and Territorial Road in Veneta beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10 as part of a durable striping project.

Flaggers will control the intersection from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. During this time, motorists can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.

The $190,000 project to install new fog lines along an 8.5-mile section of the highway started on Aug. 21. The work has caused travel delays for many of the commuters who live in the Veneta area and work in Eugene-Springfield.

Deactivating the signal and controlling the intersection with flaggers could exacerbate those delays. Motorists should use alternate routes if possible. The striping project is expected to be finished on Thursday, Sept. 13.
