Crews to seal asphalt on U.S. 101 near Bay City tomorrow

Weather permitting, expect delays on Tuesday between mile posts 57.5 - 63

BAY CITY – Weather permitting, ODOT maintenance crews will use a sealant on U.S. 101 (Oregon Coast Highway) between mile posts 57.5-59.9 and 61-63. Motorists will be detoured onto local roads while crews apply the sealant. Expect minor delays. ODOT estimates each section will take approximately two hours.

The sealant is being tested as a low cost way to prolong the pavement life. Unlike a full pavement overlay, traffic flow can be restored within about an hour after application, depending on the weather conditions.
