GOSHEN – Drivers on Franklin Boulevard under I-5 should expect delays of up to 15 minutes this Saturday and Sunday as contractors for the Oregon Department of Transportation demolish a portion of the old I-5 overpass over the COPR Railroad near Goshen. I-5 freeway traffic will not be affected by the demolition.
Crews will work from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic.
The work is part of the Oregon Department of Transportation’s I-5 McKenzie River to Goshen Grade project. Hamilton Construction, based in Springfield, Ore., is the lead contractor for the project. Hamilton will replace five bridges and repair two more during the next three years to ensure the safe and free flow of traffic along the I-5 corridor. Construction work on the $67 million project will be finished by fall 2009.
