I-5 northbound, Exit 233 to close September 28-October 11
Detour will use Knox Butte Road Exit

Corvallis- The Oregon Department of Transportation will close the off-ramp from I-5 northbound, Exit 233 (US20, Santiam Highway Exit) for three week beginning approximately September 28.

From approximately September 28 through approximately October 19, motorists will be redirected to use the Knox Butte Road exit.  Flaggers will control the Knox Butte Road intersection from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Motorists wishing to travel east or west on US20 (Santiam Highway) from northbound I-5 will use the following detour:
  • Knox Butte Road Exit from I-5 NB
  • West on Knox Butte Road to OR99E
  • South on  OR99E  a short distance to Airport Road
  • East and then south on Airport Road to US20 (Santiam Highway)
The exit closure is to accommodate a construction project that is lowering the height of I-5 to create a higher overpass.  Currently, over-height loads have to exit I-5 northbound at Exit 228, take OR34 to OR99W, north to OR22, east to OR99E Business/Salem Parkway to I-5.
