Chemawa interchange plan open house on Oct. 14
State and local governments seek feedback on plans for interchange area
KEIZER – ODOT, Marion County and the Cities of Keizer and Salem will hold an open house, at which the public is welcome to learn about recommended improvements to the I-5/Chemawa Road Interchange. The open house will be held at Keizer City Hall, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
The public is invited to drop-in and learn about a set of recommended alternatives being considered for the Interchange Area Management Plan (IAMP). The IAMP includes long-term improvement recommendations, and it establishes state and local policies to support the function, operations and safety of the Chemawa interchange over the next 20 years. Ultimately the IAMP will be adopted by each city council, the Marion County Commission and the Oregon Transportation Commission. Adoption is anticipated in spring 2010.
The public is invited to attend the open house and ask questions of project staff. The public is also welcome to provide feedback in an online survey from Oct. 7 through Oct. 21. For more information on the Interchange Area Management Plan or to complete the online survey after Oct. 7, please visit the project Web site at www.chemawainterchange.org.
