| Truck crash closes I-5 north near Creswell |

| 10/11/2007 |
CRESWELL -- Two semi-trucks heading northbound on Interstate 5 collided about at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday, closing both lanes of the freeway approximately one mile north of the Creswell interchange.
Preliminary reports indicate it was a high speed rear-end crash. The semi that crashed into the freight truck in front of it sustained major damage to the engine compartment, emptying oil, fuel and other fluids onto the road surface.
Fire crews from Goshen and Creswell are at the scene and have contained the fluid spill. A tow company is enroute to begin removing the wreckage.
A detour is in place at this time. Northbound I-5 traffic is being diverted off the freeway at the Creswell interchange and detoured north on Highway 99 to Goshen, where vehicles can then rejoin I-5.
Initial estimates indicate northbound lanes will remain blocked until at least 7 a.m.
