Salem River Crossing Project open houses
11/05/2007
The public is invited to review and provide feedback on bridge alternatives

SALEM – The City of Salem and ODOT are hosting two open houses for the public to review proposed crossing alternatives and provide feedback to Salem River Crossing Project staff.

The first open house will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Highland Elementary School gymnasium (530 Highland Avenue NE, Salem). The second open house will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Oregon Room of Roth’s Hospitality Center (425 Glen Creek Road NW, Salem). The same information will be presented at both open houses.

The City of Salem and ODOT are conducting the Salem River Crossing Project to develop solutions for crossing the Willamette River in the Salem-Keizer metropolitan area that meet transportation needs, are compatible with the built and natural environments and have broad community and regional support.  The project will build on results of previous studies and will include development of an environmental impact statement (EIS) and funding strategy.

For more information on Salem River Crossing, including maps of the proposed alternatives, please visit the project website at www.salemrivercrossing.org.
