The public is invited learn more about plans to replace the Bergsvik Creekculvert
SEASIDE – The Oregon Department of Transportation will hold a meeting to provide information to the public about its planned replacement of a culvert at Bergsvik Creek. The meeting will be held on Nov. 15 from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. in Seaside’s Hamlet Fire Station School House at 37240 Highway 26.
The project is planned for summer 2009 and will require closure of Oregon 53 from mile post 2.24 to 2.34 while crews replace the rusted, sagging culvert. The project site is about ten miles east of the junction of U.S. 101 and U.S. 26, or just south of the U.S. 26 and Oregon 53 junction on Oregon 53.
Because Bergsvik Creek is listed as critical salmon habitat, the project will be funded by a federal fish passage program.
