High water causes road closure
SEASIDE – U.S. 101 is closed between its junction with U.S. 26 and Seaside, because standing water is creating a safety concern.
“Water is standing too deeply for traffic to safely get by,” said District Manager David Neys. “It makes it difficult for drivers to see the roadway with so much water.”
Crews will allow higher clearance emergency service vehicles through, but all other traffic will be rerouted.
The detour route follows Oregon 202 to Oregon103 and back to U.S. 26.
Conditions are likely to remain the same overnight, and ODOT will assess any damage at first light. Crews report water more than two feet deep in places.
