| Truck crash closes I-5 north at Goshen |
|
| 11/26/2007 |
GOSHEN -- A semi truck crash has closed all northbound Interstate 5 lanes at milepoint 188.2 in Goshen, just south of Eugene.
The crash occurred at about 5:30 a.m. Monday, with some minor injuries reported. A hazardous materials crew is on scene and is removing some spilled diesel and engine oil from the roadway.
At this time, northbound traffic is being diverted onto the eastbound Highway 58 offramp, sent across the highway, and then placed back on I-5 north via the Highway 58 onramp. To facilitate this detour, the Highway 58 offramp from I-5 south has been closed.
Motorists in south Lane County seeking to go north should use Highway 99, go north through Goshen, and then access Old Franklin Boulevard northbound.
Northbound I-5 is expected to remain closed until at least 10 a.m.
