Projects for 2010-2011 include streetscapes, pedestrian refuges and sidewalks
The Oregon Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee has awarded just over $5.5 million to
Oregon cities and counties for 17 pedestrian and bicycle projects. The Bicycle and Pedestrian
Program at the Oregon Department of Transportation received 68 applications requesting just
shy of $24 million. The advisory committee used several criteria to evaluate projects, including
the land uses served, current conditions, potential usage, and design elements that enhance the
bicycling or walking experience. One alternate grant was selected in case funding becomes
available. The next solicitation for grant applications will be in spring 2010.
