| Multi-vehicle crash closes OR126 east of Florence | ||

MAPLETON – A fatal, multi-vehicle crash has closed Highway 126 West at milepoint 17 near Mapleton. The crash occurred just before 6 p.m. The highway will remain closed at this location for several hours while Oregon State Police conduct an accident reconstruction investigation. There is a possibility one lane could open late Thursday night or early Friday morning. In the meantime, ODOT incident responders are setting up a detour around the crash scene. Westbound vehicles will be sent to Poodle Creek Road and then to Highway 36. Eastbound motorists will be detoured on Highway 36 east to Poodle Creek Road and then back onto Highway 126.
