Frozen rain, fallen trees and slick conditions close several highways
12/21/2008

Several Coast Rangehighways are closed this morning because of fallen trees, frozen rain and hazardous driving conditions:

- US. 26 is closed from mile point 10 – 18, east of its junction with Oregon 53 and west of its junction with Oregon 103.
- Oregon 22 is closed from mile point 10 – 17, about eight miles west of its intersection with Oregon18.
- Oregon18 is also closed from mile point 13, Grand Ronde Road, to mile point 21.

Please use alternate routes and expect delays - if travel is necessary. U.S. 30, Oregon6 and U.S. 20 are alternatives.

Drivers are advised to avoid traveling through the Coast Range this morning, north of U.S. 20. Freezing rain means that falling trees may cause intermittent highway closures throughout the area. If travel is necessary, carry chains and be prepared to use them.
