| U.S. 26 open |

| 12/23/2008 |
Crews from the Oregon Department of Transportation completed clean up on U.S. 26 (Sunset Highway) after more trees fell overnight, and the highway was opened just after 1:45 p.m. Chains are required from mile point 21-45, through the summit area. Carry chains or traction control devices at all times.
Motorists are advised to drive with extra caution as fallen trees and limbs could cause intermittent delays or closures.
Oregon 18 (Salmon River Highway) and Oregon 22 (Three Rivers Highway) remain closed while crews clear fallen trees.
Oregon 18 may open late this afternoon. If additional trees fall, the highway will stay closed overnight and be opened later Wednesday morning or early Wednesday afternoon. Crews from multiple districts are working with private contractors to remove trees and clear the road.
Oregon 22 will stay closed overnight as crews focus on clearing Oregon 18.
Drivers are advised to use extra caution, slow down and be prepared to travel in winter weather by following winter driving tips on ODOT’s Web site.
