| Head-on collision closes OR126 East | ||

SPRINGFIELD – A head-on collision between two vehicles approximately one mile east of Leaburg has closed both lanes of Highway 126 E. The collision occurred at about 9 p.m. Sunday. Initial reports indicate that a Lane County Sheriff’s deputy was in pursuit of a fleeing vehicle when the crash occurred. Emergency responders from ODOT and McKenzie Fire & Rescue are on scene. The highway will be closed until at least 2 a.m. while the Sheriff’s Office conducts an accident reconstruction. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes such as Highway 58, Highway 20 or Highway 22. There is no detour around the crash scene.
