Oregon 214: Evergreen Road Transit Facility
Overview
Residential and commercial growth in the Woodburn area has caused significant traffic congestion at the interchange between I-5 and Oregon 214 in Woodburn.

The Evergreen Road Transit Facility is being designed to help relieve some congestion by providing a new transit park and ride facility that will also serve as an attractive “gateway” feature for the growing community.

The Facility is part of a larger plan, the Woodburn Interchange Project, to address the need for modernization, an increase in capacity, so the interchange, I-5, and Oregon 214 will operate more efficiently and safely. While the Woodburn Interchange Project does not have all of the funding required for construction, there is sufficient funding available for the Evergreen Road Transit Facility.

Construction is expected in the 2011 construction season and will include site clearing, grading and paving of the Park and Ride lot and Evergreen Road. A bus shelter will also be constructed and the area between Oregon 214 and the Park and Ride lot will be landscaped.

Public Involvement
This project will have a series of public workshops for the community to help prepare a conceptual design for park and ride amenities such as shelters and landscaping. The shelters, furnishings, and other site amenities will be designed to establish a distinctive style that creates an attractive “gateway” arrival experience for travelers and sets a precedent for future development in the area.
