Overnight closures scheduled for I-5/Beltline ramp
SPRINGFIELD— ODOT will close the ramp from westbound OR 569 (Randy Papé Beltline) to southbound I-5 for three nights next week so contractors can place new signs and erect a new cantilever sign structure near the ramp location.
Beginning Monday, January 17, 2011 and ending Thursday morning, January 20, the ramp will be closed between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
During the closure periods, motorists will be instructed to remain on westbound OR 569 and exit at Coburg Road, turn left, then re-enter OR 569 eastbound and take the southbound I-5 ramp.
The sign structure and new signs are part of the $11.5 million joint ODOT and City of Springfield project that will:
-
Add a new northbound I-5 off-ramp to eastbound Beltline;
-
Construct a new northbound I-5 on-ramp from westbound Beltline;
-
Widen Beltline between I-5 and Hutton Street;
-
Widen Gateway Street between Kruse Way and International Way;
-
Construct a new sound wall on the west side of I-5 between Harlow Rd and Willakenzie Rd.
The project is scheduled for completion in July, 2011.
