Construction blasting planned on US 20 near Eddyville

Two blasts planned the week of April 19

Eddyville— Construction blasts will result in lane restrictions on U.S. 20 near Eddyville on Monday, April 19 and Thursday, April 22.

The contractor on the US20-Pioneer Mountain to Eddyville project plans to remove approximately 4,000 cubic yards of earth in each blast.

There will be a single lane of travel between milepost 24 and 25 before and after each blast and a short term complete closure at the time of each blast.

Motorists will see the following changes to travel along US 20:
  • Monday, April 19--7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
The westbound lane will be closed.  A pilot car will escort traffic.  There will be a short, complete road closure sometime between 9:00 a.m. and noon for a construction blast.  Both lanes should reopen to traffic by 3:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 22 —7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
The westbound lane will be closed.  A pilot car will escort traffic.  There will be a short, complete road closure sometime between 9:00 a.m. and noon for a construction blast.  Both lanes should reopen to traffic by 3:00 p.m.

If blasting this week, or at any time during project construction, creates the chance for lengthy traffic delays or highway closures, ODOT will activate variable message signs at key locations to alert drivers to consider alternate routes.

Please use caution when traveling through construction work zones.
