Construction continues on two Lane County intersections
Intermittent, minimal delays are expected in Junction City and Glenwood
SPRINGFIELD— Motorists in Junction City and the Glenwood area of Springfield will experience minimal delays as a contractor for the Oregon Department of Transportation continues work at two intersections.
The contractor is scheduled to install signal detection loops in the pavement of the intersections and will need to shift one lane of travel at a time. Traffic signals should continue to function during the work, with one lane of travel open in each direction. Signage will also be used to direct motorists.
Lane closures on the state highways at these two intersections are allowed between 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. the following day, Monday through Friday.
-
Work is scheduled at OR 99 and 1st Avenue in Junction City, on Monday, May 3.
-
Work is scheduled at Franklin Boulevard and Henderson Avenue in the Glenwood area of Springfield, on Tuesday, May 4.
Please Note: The work is weather-dependent. Should rain prevent this phase of project construction, the schedule will be moved to the next acceptable date.
Project to be completed by June
Remaining work includes striping, pavement legends, signing, curb construction, signal detection tie-in and activation, valve-box adjustments and other miscellaneous items.
The construction is part of a $1.8-million dollar intersection improvement project to widen the intersections, realign the roadway, redevelop pedestrian cross-walks, and replace traffic signals and illumination. The project is to be completed by June 3, 2010.
