ODOT partners with City of Albany on repairs
ALBANY — The Oregon Department of Transportation will work with the city of Albany to repair city water valves, ODOT manholes, and resurface the roadway around the facilities. The repairs will be made at several locations in Albany along OR 99E and US 20 (Pacific Blvd.) between Allen Lane and Interstate 5.
The repairs will begin Monday, June 21, 2010 and last for approximately three weeks, weather permitting.
“This is a good opportunity to partner with the City on repairs that will be of benefit to both the City and ODOT,” said ODOT District 4 Manager, Bob Doran.
“ODOT will provide a construction crew, saw cutting and traffic control while the City will purchase materials, install new valve covers and pave the excavations. In the end, the City will have rebuilt water valves and ODOT will have improved manholes,” Doran said.
Motorists can expect lane closures in both directions, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Motorists should also expect to travel over steel plates placed on the roadway that will protect newly poured concrete.
“We look forward to working with the City and hope similar opportunities develop in the future,” said Doran.
