Traffic restrictions planned near Creswell and Cottage Grove
ALBANY — The Oregon Department of Transportation will restrict a single lane of travel on I-5 southbound, north of Cottage Grove next week so crews can seal the concrete deck of the bridge crossing the Coast Fork of the Willamette River.
Traffic on two bridges on Cloverdale Road in Creswell will also be affected.
Deck sealing is done to seal cracks in the concrete that might allow moisture to corrode and weaken steel reinforcement bar embedded in the concrete.
From 5:30 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, June 28 and 29, a single lane restriction will occur on I-5 southbound at milepost 179.9. Signs will alert motorists to the closure of either the right or left lane.
Deck sealing will also be done on the Cloverdale Road overpass at I-5 and the Hill Creek Bridge on Cloverdale Road.
Flaggers will control one-way traffic at the locations from 5:30 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, June 30 and July 1. Motorists should expect short delays.
Motorists using the I-5 northbound on-ramp and off-ramp at Cloverdale Road could also experience short delays.
