Paving scheduled in Astoria on U.S. 30
on Monday night June 20

ASTORIA—Oregon Department of Transportation crews will be paving a section of eastbound U.S. 30 in Astoria from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, June 20. The work will be done primarily in the right lane of Commercial Street (eastbound U.S. 30).

There will be a short detour for motorists near the 8th and Commercial intersection. Also, parking on Commercial Street between 7th Street and 15th Street will be prohibited to allow room for the paving equipment. Delays should be minimal since crews plan to work in one lane at a time on the dual lane road.

The work is being done to repair some severe potholes and rutting. The work includes grinding out and removing pavement from the travel lane, work around manhole covers and repaving the lane with new asphalt. Temporary striping and crosswalk marking will be installed with plans for permanent striping to be done at a later date.

ODOT is working with the City of Astoria to accomplish the work quickly with limited disruption to traffic and businesses.
