I-5 Market Street Interchange ramps to be closed during evenings of July 11-13
SALEM--A contractor working for the Oregon Department of Transportation will be closing the I-5 Market Street Interchange on and off ramps from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each evening, during July 11-13 for grinding and repaving.
At least one lane of traffic will remain open along Market Street between Hawthorne Street and Motor Court, and under the I-5 overpass. All business access will remain open. However, the ramps will be closed and motorists traveling on Market Street should expect flagging and some delays.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) have been placed on I-5 ahead of the Mission Street and Chemawa Road interchanges warning motorists of the ramp closures.
Motorists have several alternative routes including the I-5 Mission Street and Chemawa Road interchanges and using Hawthorne (just west of I-5) as a connecting road to Market Street. Southbound motorists on I-5 can also use Portland Road to get off the highway.
