Temporary closure of Grand Prairie to last until July 24
ALBANY — ODOT would like to remind motorists in the Albany area that the Grand Prairie Road bridge over Interstate-5 will remain closed until at least July 24.
The closure is necessary to allow crews to conduct work associated with raising the overpass to a height of 16 feet, 8 inches above the freeway.
During the closure, motorists will use a detour along Three Lakes Road and Spicer Drive to U.S. 20/Santiam Highway on the east side of I-5. The detour on the west side of I-5 uses Waverly Drive to U.S. 20/Santiam Highway.
Construction on Grand Prairie is expected to be complete in August.
The Oregon Department of Transportation, through its contractor Wildish Standard Paving Co. of Eugene, Ore., is currently working on a $10.36 million federally-financed effort to improve freight mobility along the Interstate 5 corridor. ODOT is raising the elevation of 11 bridge overpasses in Marion, Linn and Lane counties. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
