Lane restrictions planned on OR 34, east of Waldport
CORVALLIS- The Oregon Department of Transportation will begin a chip seal operation next week on OR 34, approximately seven miles east of Waldport.
Chip seal is a pavement surface treatment that combines layers of asphalt with layers of fine aggregate.
From 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., beginning Monday, August 9 and continuing through Thursday, August 12, the chip seal operation will result in lane restrictions between milepost 7 and milepost 14.
Motorists will encounter a single lane of travel with flaggers and a pilot car controlling traffic in alternating directions. Motorists should expect 15-20 minute delays while traveling through the construction area. The speed limit will be reduced to 25 miles per hour through the construction zone.
Variable message signs will also remind and alert motorists of the project.
