I-105 eastbound ramp to Pioneer Parkway closed on game day
Closure to control post game congestion
Springfield— In an effort to make the traffic flow safer for Oregon Duck fans leaving the football game Saturday afternoon, the Oregon Department of Transportation and the Springfield Police Department will close the eastbound OR126 (Interstate 105 East) exit ramp to Pioneer Parkway. The closure will be temporary and last less than two hours.
Heavy post game congestion on Pioneer Parkway from Centennial Boulevard north to Q Street could present safety hazards for motorists and the police officers controlling traffic. The closure will also attempt to divert traffic away from LTD’s EmX construction zone along Pioneer Parkway.
During the exit ramp closure, motorists traveling eastbound on OR126 are encouraged to take the Mohawk Boulevard exit and use Q Street to access north Springfield.
The ramp closure will begin immediately following the end of the game--at approximately 4 p.m. -- and last about 90 minutes.
ODOT Incident Responders will be traveling local highways and will be ready to respond quickly to any traffic issues.
Variable message signs have been placed near the Pioneer Parkway exit for several days prior to the game to inform and remind motorists of the temporary exit closure.
The exit ramp closure will be in effect following all University of Oregon home football games
