Siuslaw River Bridge deck resurfacing work to continue Sept. 12-16
FLORENCE — The U.S. 101-Siuslaw River Bridge deck resurfacing project that was started in early August and then postponed, will continue on September 12-16 with 24-hour work and continuous one lane closures.
Beginning at around 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 12 and ending at 5 p.m. Thursday, September 16, motorists will be restricted to a single lane of travel across the bridge and on the bridge approaches.
Flaggers will control traffic in alternating directions through the construction zone. Variable Message Signs posted on U.S. 101 and Oregon 126 will alert motorists to the lane restrictions.
Motorists should expect delays of at least 5-20 minutes during the construction periods. Florence residents could also experience nighttime noise normally associated with bridge construction.
The deck resurfacing project is weather-dependent. Should weather conditions prevent construction, the project will be rescheduled to the next available time.
