New Youngs Bay Bridge to close for one evening on Wednesday, September 22
ASTORIA— The New Youngs Bay Bridge (U.S. 101) in Astoria will be closed overnight on Wednesday, September 22 starting at 9 p.m. to allow ODOT to perform a drawbridge maintenance operation. The bridge will re-open at 5 a.m. on Thursday, September 23.
Variable message signs will be posted in key locations instructing motorists to detour onto US 101-Business and take Old Youngs Bay Bridge.
Built in 1974, New Youngs Bay Bridge carries approximately 14,000 vehicles from Warrenton to Astoria each day.
