Weekend closure planned for I-105 westbound
SPRINGFIELD— An ODOT construction project will result in a full closure of the I-105 westbound bridge over Interstate 5 this weekend.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, September 24 and continuing until 5 a.m. Monday, September 27, the I-105 westbound bridge will be closed to all traffic.
I-105 eastbound will remain open.
Detour to use OR 569 (Randy Papé Beltline)
During the closure, motorists will be detoured north on I-5 to OR 569 (Randy Papé Beltline), then west to Delta Highway, then south to I-105 to appropriate connections. Because this detour will result in additional traffic volumes at the Delta/Beltline interchange, local motorists should allow more travel time or may wish to use alternate routes to avoid the interchange.
ODOT is working with the City of Eugene to adjust traffic signal timing at the interchange if necessary.
Project to increase height of I-5 bridges
The Oregon Department of Transportation, through its contractor Wildish Standard Paving Co. of Eugene, Ore., is currently working on a $10.36 million federally-financed effort to improve freight mobility along the Interstate 5 corridor. ODOT is raising the elevation of 11 bridge overpasses in Marion, Linn and Lane counties. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
