Paving on approaches to US 101-Siuslaw River Bridge could cause delays in Florence
FLORENCE— A contractor working for ODOT will make pavement repairs to the north and south approaches to the Siuslaw River Bridge on U.S. 101 in Florence next week.
Knife River Corporation will grind old asphalt and replace it with a new road surface during daytime hours on Tuesday, October 5.
From 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. motorists should expect 10-20 minute delays.
Paving on the north side of the bridge will necessitate a single lane closure with flaggers controlling travel in alternating directions. Paving on the north side should be completed by approximately 1 p.m.
Paving on the south side of the bridge will require only intermittent lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic. The south side is wide enough to accommodate two lanes of travel during most of the paving with intermittent lane closures needed for construction vehicle activity.
The maintenance project is weather dependent. Should the project be cancelled by inclement weather, it will be rescheduled for the next available opportunity.
