Paving scheduled in 2011 for U.S. 30 project
ASTORIA- Paving of a 4.3 mile stretch of U.S. 30 between the John Day River Bridge and 33rd Street in Astoria is scheduled to be completed by July 1, 2011.
The project was originally scheduled for completion this fall but the company that received the low bid on the U.S. 30 project was delayed finishing a major project on U.S. 101 in Tillamook County. Significant additions to work on that project between 12th Street in Tillamook to Farmer Creek Road, made delays in the U.S. 30 project unavoidable.
However, the other components of the U.S. 30 project such as the sidewalk and ramp improvements, signing, and drainage work, will be finished prior to the paving next year. It is anticipated that the paving will begin sometime after March 15, 2011 and completed by July 1, 2011.
