ODOT adds new TripCheck camera on
Oregon 6; first one in Tillamook County
TILLAMOOK- The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) has added a new closed circuit television camera at Lee’s Camp on Oregon 6 (Wilson River Highway) that will help motorists view the latest road conditions in the Coast Range. It is the first camera on Oregon 6 and first one in Tillamook County.
The camera can be viewed on www.TripCheck.com and provides a real time view of the highway looking east at Milepost 23.5, almost halfway between Tillamook and the intersection of Oregon 6 and U.S. 26, and at an elevation of 700 feet.
“This custom camera provides motorists traveling on Oregon 6 between Tillamook and the Willamette Valley an additional travel resource for road and weather conditions,” said Dave Neys, ODOT’s District 1 Manager. “Our TripCheck cameras are very popular and useful for motorists, and we are glad to be able to add one on Oregon 6.”
ODOT is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of TripCheck.com this year. ODOT has more than 200 cameras located on state highways throughout the state. There are now 35 cameras located in Region 2, which comprises nine counties including Tillamook County.
