ODOT to help Marion County, Aumsville recovery efforts
SALEM- The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is supplying equipment, materials and personnel to help Marion County and the City of Aumsville after a tornado caused widespread damage and destruction to the community earlier today.
ODOT is providing four large portable lights plants which can be used anywhere that they are needed. With power outages in the area, recovery personnel will need the lights to help with the damage assessment and repairs during the evening.
ODOT will also be helping the county staff its Emergency Operations Center to help expedite any further requests to the state for emergency assistance.
“ODOT is ready to assist these communities in any way that we can with equipment and staff,” said Jane Lee, Region 2 Manager in Salem. “If the county needs any more equipment, materials or staff, we will try to supply as much as we can.”
