| General Information |

Area 1 geographically spans from the Columbia River on its north boundary to the Tillamook County line on its south boundary and includes all of Clatsop and Tillamook counties. In an ongoing effort to remain sensitive to current and future transportation infrastructure needs Area 1 actively interacts with the following organizations:
- Oregon Transportation Commission
- North West Area Commission on Transportation
- Oregon Trucking Association
- Transit Districts
- Local City and County Commissions
- Ports Authorities
- Northwest Regional Partnership
Within the Area there are approximately 224 bridges, 5,800 culverts and 920 miles of roadway that require enhancements on a recurring basis in order to meet the needs of the traveling public. Area 1 has responsibility for overseeing project development, design, and construction within the tri-county area for agency managed and consultant managed projects.

- Project Scoping
- Organize and lead project scoping trips annually.
- Compile scoping data and produce Parts 1 & 2 of the Project Prospectus including cost estimates.

Project Leaders lead multiple project teams to develop projects using ODOT in-house resources from scoping through project bid letting.

Consultant Contract Administration

Consultant Project Manager administered consultant contracts on full-service contracts that include both Project Development and Construction Engineering services.

Community Outreach and Involvement

Hold STIP Public Open Houses bi-annually to gather public input on Draft STIP.

Attend City Council and Planning Commission meetings to update local jurisdictions on ODOT projects.

Hold Public Open Houses on projects in development to gather public input and answer questions.

Meet with stakeholders on a regular basis.

Construction Inspection

Project Manager oversees 12 inspectors on multiple construction projects.

Construction Contract Administration

Project Manager enforces construction specifications and negotiates contract change orders on multiple construction projects.
