Highway 62 Corridor Project
News Release July 9th, 04

ADVISORY GROUP FORMING FOR HIGHWAY 62 CORRIDOR PROJECT

MEDFORD — The Oregon Department of Transportation is soliciting members for a project Citizens Advisory Committee to look at design improvements for the Crater Lake Highway (Oregon Highway 62) corridor.

An environmental analysis will encompass the corridor from Poplar Drive in Medford east to White City and would complement improvements currently under construction at the north Medford interchange.

Early in the development of the North Medford Interchange construction project, teams began looking at corridor improvements. Further work was shelved due to funding constraints.
As part of the new study, a Citizens Advisory Committee will be formed to ensure that the interests, knowledge and recommendations of the local community are considered in project decisions. The CAC will consist of community members with varied interests and backgrounds, including transit, neighborhoods and commuters.

CAC members will meet more than 20 times over a two-year period. Each meeting is held in the evening and runs approximately two hours. The meetings are open to the public.
People interested in serving on the CAC should contact project consultant John Morrison at (541) 664-6676.
